I understand Internet communications and how to explain them:

My email writing guide, A Beginner's Guide to Effective Email, gets 600,000 hits per year.
I started using electronic mail in 1973 (on the PLATO system). I have been using Internet email regularly since 1988 and have had the same email address since 1994.
I wrote two email programs, including what may have been the very first web-based interface to email (like Yahoo mail and Hotmail).
I have written a book chapter and a number of essays. Some of the essays have been republished; the popular humor newsgroup rec.humor.funny published one of them.
I won a GNN Best of the Web award in 1995.

Hometown Information

I have lived in Chicago IL, Pasadena CA, Champaign IL, all over Silicon Valley CA, Portland OR, Oxnard CA, and Delft, Netherlands.

I got my BS and MS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
